Advent Wreath
Main Photo: Advent Wreath |
Hello all, I am going to make this short. The advent wreath I did for Adriana was something I wanted to remember her age we started to learn all about Christmas. This is something I am going to complete with her and hold onto as a keepsake!
I used two sheets of green construction paper and a green crayon to trace her hands (left hand on one sheet and her right hand on the other sheet). I cut them out and arranged them around a paper plate (Figure 1).
Figure 1: I used inner side of plate to arrange AD's hand cut outs around the border. |
Once, you have the hand prints in the order you like them glue them on using a glue gun or glue stick. Then cut out rectangles to resemble candles on the wreath. You should have 3 purple, 1 pink, 1 white rectangles (Figure 2). Use a small piece of yellow construction paper to cut out 5 of the candle lightings (Figure 2).

Label the 'candles':
Purple: Hope, Peace/Preparation, Love
Pink: Joy
White: Jesus or Christ
Place the rectangle candles the way I did in the main photo above. Each week that passes by "LIGHT" one candle at a time until the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day!
Week 1: Hope
Week 2: Peace/Preparation
Week 3: Joy
Week4: Love
Christmas Day: Jesus/Christ
