Nature on a Page
What do you do with all the leaves and sticks you collected on your nature walk? The next few activities will show you how much fun Fall can actually be. Arts and crafts is the best way to display and look back at all we have done in this season.
What you will need to make an autumn tree arts and crafts page:
1) 1 sheet of construction paper
2) glue gun
3) Elmers school glue
4) sticks and leaves of different shapes and sizes from your back yard or from a nature walk in your community
5) paint brush with medium tip
Steps:
First, you will need to glue gun two small/medium sticks side by side to make the truck of your tree in the middle of the page.
Then, you will squeeze some Elmers school glue on the bottom (left and right of the sticks) and have your child use the brush to spread the glue evenly. They can do this and find small leaves to stick on the bottom.
Next, you will add more Elmers school glue in circular motion around the two sticks you had glued imitating the bushiness of the leaves. Your child will use the brush again to smooth out the Elmers school glue out and place larger leaves on top.
Lastly, let your beautiful Autumn Tree your little one has created to dry somewhere and then hang it or show case it somewhere around the house.
This piece of art will always remind you and your little ones of the fun time you had collecting the items and creating such a beautiful work of art!
